SESSION
All Substance, No Fluff: Comprehensive Planning Scaled to Fit Smaller Communities
Comprehensive planning efforts are daunting for smaller communities - they are expensive, time consuming, and result in broad recommendations for which resources don’t exist. The trick is scaling these efforts to fit the community and the bottom line: what residents are willing and able to support. This session will discuss how to retool efforts so they are within reach of every community, no matter the population, staff size, or budget. Discover how a simplified approach harnesses the unique features of small towns and cities, and avoids an “urban” strategy that yields plans which are complicated and feel impossible to administer.
